Feelin' Film

In a time when film criticism is as provocative as ever, Feelin' Film ventures to change the discussion from what we hate about a film to what we love about it. We judge more on emotional experience than technical merit. Every movie makes us feel something.

It's Transformers week, so we're covering an even better giant robot movie. Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim is a love letter to the sandbox dreams of little kids everywhere, a passion project on a giant scale. But there is so much more to this film than just epic Jaeger vs. Kaiju battles. There's heart, hope, and a heap of Idris Elba, which makes everything better. Tune in for a discussion as fun as the film itself.

Father's Day and baseball go together like Heaven and Iowa. For this episode we are joined by Don Shanahan to talk about one of the best baseball films ever made. Field of Dreams is unique and packs quite the emotional punch, while never letting us forget our own love of the game. It's the perfect film to celebrate on this day all about Dads.

The story of Facebook, sort of. To many this Oscar-nominated film from director David Fincher and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin is a masterpiece, crafting an interesting narrative in a thrilling and exciting way. To others it may be considered a gross misrepresentation of the truth, thus limiting their enjoyment. We discuss creative liberty in biopics and more as we have a fun conversation about this compelling dramatized historical account of a social media giant.
